Human Intelligence; Informants and Street Operations Planning is a one-day 8-hour course designed for any law enforcement personnel and prosecutors regardless of assignment, for every discipline that uses or should use Human Intelligence assets. 

This is a great course that will provide the valuable skills needed to be successful when deploying Informants.  Law Enforcement students will learn how to identify and manage Informants, while prosecutors will learn the skills needed to successfully navigate the intricacies of Informant management for court purposes. 

Topics of instruction will include Informant identification and management.  This course folds in Risk Mitigation skills, where Controlling Officers can create a situation where all involved will be successful.  The course includes how to use Risk Mitigation skills to plan and conduct street operations such as buy-busts and arrest warrant execution.

Students completing this course will deepen their understanding of how to identify and manage Human Intelligence assets, how to deploy those assets to infiltrate criminal organizations, and how to manage the delicate nature of having Informants work undercover.  Students will learn and use Risk Mitigation skills to enhance their ability to create a safer and successful environment while conducting street operations.

Target Audience

All currently employed law enforcement personnel and prosecutors, regardless of position or rank, are encouraged to attend this course to enhance each person’s skill level in one of the most critical assets that any agency can utilize.   

Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for obtaining permission and approval from their departments prior to registration if the student plans to attend on-duty and have the agency pay for it.  You know the rules
