Description

Blue Line Leadership is a 24-hour professional development course presented over three consecutive days. This course is designed for, and limited to, all members of an agency without any formal supervisory rank of all tenure and assignment.

This is a great course for those influential peer leaders on your team; those who are thriving and those who have become disenfranchised, frustrated, or disappointed; those emerging leaders who desire to promote or achieve coveted specialized assignments; and those who desire a deeper and broader understanding of our chosen profession.

Topics of instruction will include: leadership at the ground level; mental conditioning and professional commitment; trust, credibility, and police culture; procedural justice, constitutional policing, and wellness; followership’s leadership responsibility; and resilient leadership and self-reflection.

Students completing this course will deepen their understanding of leadership, followership, and self to improve their work and personal relationships with others. Information and skills developed in this course will assist the student in gaining a broader perspective of the law enforcement profession, the personalities that exist in it, teams, culture, history, followership responsibilities, and leadership from wherever they’re at within the police organization.

Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for obtaining permission and approval from their departments prior to registration if the student plans to attend on-duty and have the agency pay for it. You know the rules.

If you want to attend, we recommend working with your agency prior to registering for a class. Because if you register for a class, and your department does not approve your time or tuition for any reason, you are still responsible for the terms of the attendance and cancellation policy including any applicable tuition. Again, we know you get it. We look forward to seeing you in class!

Target Audience

All sworn and non-sworn members without any formal supervisory rank are welcome to attend. Those with formal supervisory and command staff rank are encouraged not to attend this course so that the class may have the types of conversations needed for this type of personal and professional growth.

This class is open to all federal, state, tribal, and local First Responder community members, including Fire, EMS, Corrections, Professional Staff, and Law Enforcement personnel.

Course Format

Blue Line Leadership is offered in two course formats: "Hosted Classes" where students register individually, and "Contracted Classes" where agencies purchase the course at a discounted rate. For scheduling or inquiries, please contact us.
