Heather Lappin is a seasoned law enforcement professional with over 20 years of experience, having retired as a Commander with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Throughout her career, she demonstrated a passion for leadership and education, holding positions with AZPOST as a member of their leadership instruction team and serving as a master instructor for field trainers in Arizona. Heather is also a public speaker, delivering keynote addresses at women’s and wellness conferences.

Heather’s academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University. She is also a graduate of programs such as Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command, Department of Homeland Security’s Leadership Academy, and the Senior Management Institute for Police, among others.

Her leadership extends to corrections, where she served as a Commander before retiring, showcasing her versatility within the field of criminal justice. While climbing the career ladder, Heather successfully balanced her professional and personal life, raising three children and celebrating over 2 decades of marriage. An active member of her community, Heather has held several leadership positions outside of law enforcement to include president of a youth sports program in Oro Valley AZ, Director of Scholarship for the Tucson Youth Football and Cheer, and a former member of the Tucson Women’s Commission.
