Mark grew up in Whittier, California, where he developed a strong sense of discipline, service, and commitment to community. He is a graduate of Bishop Amat High School, an institution known for instilling leadership, accountability, and teamwork—values that would shape his professional career.

Mark went on to serve 31 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, building an extensive career in some of the department’s most demanding and specialized assignments. He spent significant time in Metropolitan Division and the Special Investigation Section (SIS), where he operated in high-risk environments requiring advanced skills in undercover operations, tactical surveillance, counter-surveillance, and operational planning. Throughout his career, Mark worked complex investigations involving organized crime, narcotics trafficking, violent offenders, and complex covert enforcement operations.

Mark held multiple leadership and supervisory roles, including team leader and field supervisor, where he was responsible for planning and executing operations, mentoring officers, and making real-time decisions under pressure. His experience includes mobile and foot surveillance, covert identification, operational logistics, team selection, and transitioning covert operations into tactical enforcement and arrests.

As an instructor, Mark brings real-world credibility, practical methodology, and a leadership-focused mindset to every course. His teaching emphasizes operational discipline, situational awareness, quality decision-making, and team coordination, providing students with proven techniques drawn directly from decades of field experience. His instruction is grounded in reality, accountability, and the highest professional standards.
